Internet Explorer 8 – In our humble opinion

Bad

·         Compatibility problems with many sites.  If possible check the sites that are important to you from another computer with IE 8.

·         IE 8 64 bit is extremely buggy with many different plug-ins, including adobe flash under some builds of Windows XP, Vista, and 7.

Good

·         Microsoft’s newest latest and greatest, if you had all the other ones there is no reason not to continue on to this one.

·         Much more secure than all previous versions.  Accurately prevents spyware from entering computers.

·         Very fast page loads

If your sites work with IE8, I would definitely upgrade.  It is a better browser, and if you’re not using 64 bit architecture there is little fear of having problems.
